To be the recognized leader in quality assurance program in Dermatopathology in Malaysia.
Mission
To provide resources, data, and insights for assessing the diagnostic proficiency in Dermatopathology and generally to inculcate continuing medical education in pathology.
About
Established in 2020, the Dermatopathology Module was developed to improve and increase the quality of dermatopathology services in Malaysia to the highest level, supporting better and advanced outcomes in patient care and promoting excellence in laboratory output.
The cases provided were categorized into groups including inflammatory dermatoses, neoplasms, and cases with multiple diagnoses. The performance of participants over time in each of these categories was assessed.
Each case was specifically reviewed, and further educational notes were provided to participants for self-assessment and to improve diagnostic proficiency.
A Certificate of Participation will be issued upon completion of each laboratory proficiency testing.
The Highest Standards
IAPMD QAP was formally established at the IAPMD–DSM (Department of Standards Malaysia) Seminar on March 17th, 2017. It is in the process of seeking ISO 17043 accreditation. Currently, the programme has one module per cycle, conducted in November of each year.
